Picking a partner is a critical step in establishing or growing your business. Create a winning long-term union by finding a partner with the same vision as you. Synergy is important. Don’t overlook the details though - SBA recommends your partner agreement include:
- Amount of Equity invested by each partner
- How profits and losses will be split
- Pay and compensation
- Distribution of assets on dissolution
- Rules on changing/dissolving the partnership
- Dispute settlement clause
- Restrictions on authority/expenditures
- Length of partnership
